Dying your extensions- going paler or adding highlights to your already blonde extensions
So you want white, platinum, silver, light ash… whatever you want to call it. Shades of light blonde are some of the hardest to attain and maintain which leads to a lot of bad information about how to go about it.
Let me explain how it works.
Believe it or not going lighter than golden blonde is not about dying the heck out of your hair extensions.
So how is it done?
Start with light hair extensions and then you use some color trickery to make it appear whiter. It’s all to do with color theory.
So if you place blonde hair next to white hair, what’s the difference? The blonde hair is actually light yellow hair. To go white you need to mask this yellow with another color – the opposite of yellow.
If you’ve ever tried a white toner, you’ll know that they’re very pale violet in color. The violet, being the opposite color to yellow, in effect eliminates the yellowness in your hair giving it a whiter appearance.
